Birds eye view 4

Lastly we are looking to the northeast. Lots of jungle out that way. This has to be the least used gate. One day we'll make a path through the jungle and explore out that way.

Birds eye view 3

Looking off to the north and west we can see the blue wall and blue gate. The inside of the blue wall is slowly having obsidian added to the back side of it to reinforce the wall. Z's tower house stands quite tall and features glass all around for a great view. CuteBadger and Naonablah(sp?) hobbit hole can be seen in the middle with a nice pen for the chickens and the cows.

Birds eye view 2

Looking pretty much to the south here you can see the very large Christmas Tree that we build. That was a fun project to work on. Also visible is Yoshi's house, ox_carts house and Frisbee's house underground ( the glass windows bottom center). Beyond the Christmas Tree is one of the green gates.

Birds eye view

The next few posts will be an overview of the city we call One Tree Hill. This is a view off to the east and south. The yellow wall is on the left and you can kinda see the yellow gate there as well. The buildings in this shot are the nether portal building, the auto chicken farm, the waterfall wheat farm, the adventure building, Union Depot building, my stable/dog kennel/house, Z's large tower and a few other misc buildings.

The Map

On the outside of the adventure building is the large map we are building. We are going to need to find another location for it soon as we are running out of wall space. You can clearly see the wall outline of One Tree Hill and some of road paths leading out from the gates.

Rebuilding one of 6 gates

A lone player was outside the blue gate and was visited by a creeper. The gate and the wall were not compromised, just wall surface and ground damage outside of the wall. I did not get a shot of the damage, but I do have some shots of the wall and gate area getting a rebuild with obsidian.

Here is the wall and gate with all of the stone removed.

Here is a closer view of the gate and the XOR logic circuit that controls the gate.

Adding obsidian around the gate itself.

The face of the wall is done. Also the lever is back in place to operate the gate.

Pouring lava and water to form the obsidian layer under the area outside the gate.

The last of the obsidian is in place.

And the gate is now solid and complete.

Storage

Starting off with a photo of my storage area.  Nothing too fancy, but it works well.  I'm working on expanding the area and adding automatic sorting to the chests.

Starting off

Starting off with this post about the world called Blue Mountains.  Nothing too fancy, just a few of us building and having fun in the world of Minecraft.  I'll be posting photos of buildings created, places explored and friends having a good time.
