Wheat Farming

Early on when this world was created, we built a large wheat farm with a way to harvest it all at once.

There are 4 troughs that the wheat is growing in.  All blocks are hydrated to help the wheat grow fast.  When the harvest lever is flipped, water cascades down from the top level harvesting and collecting as it flows.

At the bottom, all of the wheat and seeds land in another flowing trough of water and are brought into the wheat/seed collection building.

Glass is used to transport the wheat and seeds upstairs to the collection hopper.  In the main room are the controls for the harvesting water and the chests for the wheat and the seeds.

Up one level is where the wheat and seeds are collected in a hopper.  After that they are fed to a one item sorting machine that sends the wheat to one chest and everything else, seeds 99% of the time to the other chest.

Cooking Machine

I needed to cook up a large amount of nether rack for a project.  So first I built this furnace array fed by hoppers and a hopper mine cart.  The levers keep the hoppers from filling up the furnace.  It's most effective to let the hoppers fill up with items so as not to waste any lava cook time.  Then hoppers transport the cooked items to the storage chests below.  Nothing fancy, but it gets the job done.  The fuel source is generally lava.  Not shown is the comparator connected to the source chest that controls the power to the mine cart.
